Cleanroom-grade vacuuming for a
pharmaceutical workshop
A standard vacuum is not allowed in a drug plant. This is how the ENDUSTMAN EHTS-C
cleanroom series met strict hygiene, material and safety rules — with the paperwork to prove it.

THE CLIENT
The client is a pharmaceutical manufacturer running a cleanroom-grade workshop, where fine powder is part of daily production — and where every grain left behind is a quality risk.
In this kind of plant, cleaning is not housekeeping. It is part of quality control. The equipment used to clean must meet the same rules as the equipment used to produce: controlled materials, sealed design, and documents for every claim.
The client came to us after finding that regular vacuums — even “industrial” ones — could not pass their internal hygiene audit.
THE CHALLENGE
Four rules a vacuum must follow in a drug plant
Before any machine was chosen, the client’s requirements were clear. Each one ruled
out most vacuums on the market.
RULE /01
Clean air in, cleaner air out
The filter must catch particles down to 0.1 μm (HEPA grade), so exhaust air meets cleanroom class limits. The machine must be fully sealed — no leaks anywhere — and exhaust may need to be piped outdoors to avoid second pollution.
RULE /02
Materials that survive the audit
Surfaces must be smooth and easy to wipe down, with no rust, no deformation, no corrosion. Drug-contact zones call for 316 stainless steel; any plastic part must be food-grade PP/PE, so aging plastic never sheds particles into the room.
RULE /03
Safety around combustible materials
Some raw materials are combustible dust, and ethanol vapors may be present. Where that applies, only an explosion-proof machine will do — Ex-rated motor and electrics, plus anti-static parts to remove static before it becomes a spark.
RULE /04
Proof, not promises
The supplier must provide material certificates, filter performance reports and full technical data, plus clear manuals. Operation is monitored, and maintenance is planned and recorded — so every claim can be checked later.
THE SOLUTION
EHTS-C series — built for cleanrooms from the first drawing
We supplied the ENDUSTMAN EHTS-C cleanroom series: a compact 30 L industrial vacuum with a stainless steel body and high-efficiency HEPA filtration, designed for food, pharmaceutical and chemical plants.
Its small footprint moves easily between production lines, while the sealed filtration path keeps exhaust air inside cleanroom limits. Three power sizes let the client match suction to each work area.
